about the founder
With a degree in apparel merchandising and brand management from the College of Textiles at North Carolina State University, founder Amanda Abadie has spent the last 12 years building other brands in merchandising, retail, and wholesale positions.
Additionally, Late Summer is an ode to Amanda's late mother, Theresa, who she lost to cancer in 2006.
Theresa as a girl's name is of Greek origin meaning, "late summer". The first bearers of this name are known to be from the Greek island of Therasia. Saint Teresa of Avila was an astringent and intellectual mystic.
Amanda's hope is to allow her mother's legacy to live on through this brand, which is rooted in the special bond of motherhood and focused on their favorite season, late summer.
